Description:

We are recruiting for a Mold & Die Engineer
Our London client, specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of plastic products for various industries.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position would be responsible for the design, development, troubleshooting and optimization of molds and dies used in the plastic injection molding process; play a crucial role in creating efficient and precise tools for shaping materials into specific forms; contribute to the overall success of manufacturing operations by ensuring the quality and functionality of molds and dies; other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes, and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mold and Die Engineer in plastic injection molding industry or tool shop or experience gained in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of materials, molding processes, and mold fabrication techniques.
  • Tool maker certification would be an asset
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills required to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety standards and regulations in molding and die processes.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspond in the English language
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with design (CAD)

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and optimize molds and dies for plastic molding process.
  • Collaborate with Product Designers and Engineers to understand design requirements.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed mold and die specifications.
  • Conduct/assist feasibility studies to assess the viability and efficiency of mold and die designs.
  • Optimize mold and die designs for cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to molding and die processes.
  • Oversee the fabrication and testing of molds and dies to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and performance of molds and dies.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address molding challenges and improve processes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies in molding and die engineering
