Description

An automotive parts manufacturer near London, ON is currently searching for a Mold Engineering Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Moldflow education, with a focus on optimizing injection molding processes. This is a full-time, and direct hire position with an excellent benefits package.

Mold Engineering Specialist Qualifications

  • Minimum associate degrees in; design, mechanical, Plastics Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
  • Completion of Related Mold Flow Courses such as MoldFlow 101, Moldflow Insight to Fundamentals, Advance Flow + Cool and Warp
  • Successful completion of a mold design/mold maker apprenticeship an asset
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in injection mold design/mold tooling
  • MoldFlow Software; Autodesk, Moldex3D
  • Cimatron, NX software experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when preparing and reviewing mold designs
  • Strong interpersonal skills; having to communicate with several people at once
  • Sense of creativity when designing a mold, and when having to change and adapt to different specifications
  • Must have a valid driver’s licens

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required

Responsibilities
  • Lead Moldflow simulation activity for new parts development
  • Perform Moldflow simulations to analyze injection molding processes and identify potential issues such as warping, air traps, and sink marks.
  • Perform new tool qualification using a scientific molding approach
  • Conduct analysis results of molding trials to simulations and revise correlated results
  • Provide recommendations for material selection based on Moldflow analysis and material properties.
  • Analyze simulation results, interpret data, and present findings to cross-functional teams for effective decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot mold design and production issues, offering solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of the molding process.
  • Project management including DOE’s and process capability studies and documentation.
  • Follows safety protocol and strives to meet or exceed company safety goals
  • Other duties as assigned
