Description Shodair is excited to be adding a Molecular Genetics Technologist to our team! The Shodair Genetics Laboratory is the only CLIA certified laboratory in Montana to provide a full spectrum of genomic diagnostic services such as SNP cytogenetic microarray, next generation sequencing including whole exome sequencing, nucleotide repeat expansion testing, methylation analysis, and more, using state of the art technology. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in the rapidly advancing field of genomic medicine as part of an experienced team of laboratory staff and clinicians. The ideal Molecular Genetics Technologist candidate is someone who is: Performs laboratory tasks necessary for extracting and analyzing DNA from blood and other tissues. Perform PCR based genetic testing in accordance with standard operating procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of various genetic conditions. Generates and accurately enters clinical laboratory test results, interpretations according to established criteria and draft reports in preparation for review by the laboratory director. Participates in lab accreditation renewal efforts and scheduled proficiency testing. Performs tasks related to quality assessment, general laboratory maintenance and improvements. Assists in the development of new tests and protocols and trains others as necessary. Requirements Required Education and Experience – Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences. Meets the eligibility requirements and passes the licensing exam for the ASCP Board of Certification Molecular Biology Technologist. Maintains license as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Molecular Biology from the Montana Department of Labor and Industry Professional Licensing Bureau. Meets yearly requirements for continuing education.

The technologist will perform laboratory tasks including DNA extraction and analysis from various tissues, and execute PCR-based genetic testing according to standard operating procedures for diagnosing genetic conditions.
