POSITION DETAILS:

  • Spectrix Analytical Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated bench scientist to support biophysical and biomolecular characterization.
  • You will contribute to a dynamic and collaborative group responsible for conducting high resolution and high throughput biomolecular interaction assays to evaluate kinetics, affinities and epitopes of therapeutics and play a key role characterizing the binding properties of drug candidates and lead molecules across diverse therapeutic areas and modalities.
  • You will represent the Molecular Interactions function for multiple projects across therapeutic areas and collaborate with computational scientists on new AI/ML drug discovery efforts.
  • The position is located at our client’s research facility in Cambridge, MA. Flexible non-traditional work hours may eventually be scheduled anytime between 7 am and 6pm.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Selected candidates will be required to:

  • B.S. or M.S. in a scientific discipline with 2 - 4+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Experience with biosensor and biophysical technologies (SPR, Biacore, Carterra, Octet, Mass Photometry) preferable.
  • Familiarity with automation, electronic lab notebook and LIMS systems.
  • An understanding of protein-protein binding interactions is highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and technical skills are required along with ability to work well within a team environment across multiple disciplines.
  • Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and broad scientific interests.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with a sense of urgency and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are required as is commitment to working as a team player within a multifunctional organization.

· Conduct high throughput and smaller scale surface plasmon resonance (SPR) kinetics and along with SPR epitope binning competition assays supporting early-stage lead biologics discovery
· Optimization of biophysical binding assays.

· Clearly document experiments and present results and conclusions to project teams and other stakeholders.
