Responsibilities
  • Following the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling, and processing, test performance and analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results.
  • Perform Proficiency testing and maintain records.
  • Adhering to the laboratory’s Quality Control policies and documenting all Quality Control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance.
  • Competently perform assigned duties
  • Perform pre-analytical tasks including but not limited to specimen receipt and preparation of samples for testing.
  • Evaluate and report test results in a timely manner.
  • Recognize, report, and troubleshoot unusual test results.
  • Operate equipment according to established protocols within quality control limits.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions adhering to the standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Responsible for performing laboratory tests as a measure for the diagnosis and prognosis of infectious diseases; knowledge of lab equipment and procedures.
  • Being able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or test result reporting and correcting the problem.
  • Following the laboratory’s policies, including documenting all corrective actions, whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
