MISSION OF MERCY HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENTRE 125/1 Park Street, Kolkata Human Resources Department JOB DESCRIPTION Information Technology Executive Department Information Technology Reports To IT Manager/Administrator Location Kolkata, West Bengal Employment Type Full-Time Date 20 April 2026   1.  Position Overview The IT Executive provides operational oversight for all information technology functions within Mission of Mercy Hospital & Research Centre (MoMHRC). This role is responsible for aligning technology infrastructure with the hospital's clinical, administrative, and mission-driven objectives. The IT Executive will ensure that digital systems are secure, reliable, compliant, and capable of supporting high-quality patient care and institutional excellence.   2.  Key Responsibilities 2.1. Infrastructure & Operations Management •         Oversee and maintain all hospital IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations, medical device integrations, and communication systems. •         Ensure 24/7 uptime and reliability of mission-critical clinical and administrative systems. •         Manage data centre operations, cloud platforms, and disaster recovery protocols. •         Supervise IT help desk and technical support functions, ensuring timely resolution of issues. 2.2. Healthcare Information Systems •         Administer and develop the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform. •         Oversee Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and PACS integrations. •         Ensure seamless interoperability between clinical, pharmacy, finance, and administrative modules. •         Lead system upgrades, migrations, and new module implementations with minimal operational disruption. 2.3. Cybersecurity & Data Governance •         Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, access controls, and data protection standards across the institution. •         Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy regulations and healthcare IT standards (e.g., HIPAA guidelines, MoHFW directives, ABDM standards). •         Conduct periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and staff awareness training. •         Manage incident response protocols for data breaches or system compromises.   2.5. Compliance & Regulatory Alignment •         Ensure IT systems support the hospital's compliance with NABH accreditation standards and other regulatory frameworks. •         Maintain accurate digital records aligned with statutory reporting requirements (including FCRA, audit, and grant reporting needs). •         Liaise with government agencies, technology vendors, and regulatory bodies as required. 2.6. Budget & Vendor Management •         Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and resource allocation. •         Evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts with IT vendors, software providers, and service partners. •         Monitor SLAs and vendor performance to ensure value and service quality.   3.  Qualifications & Experience 3.1.  Essential •         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline. •         Minimum 3-5 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in a functioning executive role. •         Proven experience in a healthcare, hospital, or similarly regulated institutional setting. •         Strong hands-on knowledge of HMIS/EMR systems, networking, and IT infrastructure management. •         Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity practices and data governance.   4.  Working Conditions •         Based at the hospital's main campus in Kolkata, with occasional travel to satellite sites or external meetings. •         The role may require availability outside regular working hours in the event of system outages or critical incidents. •         The position operates within MoMHRC's faith-based, mission-driven institutional culture and is expected to uphold its values and ethos.   5.  Authority & Decision-Making The IT Executive holds decision-making authority over day-to-day IT operations, staff management within the department, vendor selection (within approved budget), and security incident response.
