Description
Why join Swaybox Studios? Swaybox Studios is rewriting the rulebook of visual storytelling. As we collaborate with DC Studios/Warner Bros Pictures Animation and Matt Reeves’ 6th and Idaho on a revolutionary new project, you’ll help bring bold creative visions to life through hands-on artistry and performance. This is your chance to be a part of a production that’s equal parts innovative and unforgettable. Audition Process You will be asked to submit two videos, the first video will be an introduction about yourself and the second will be the performance audition. Follow the steps below to complete your application. Watch the instructional video below. We encourage you to watch the instructional video as many times as needed. Record a video to tell us about yourself. This video should be a brief introduction and should let us know why you're interested in being a part of this project. (30-45 seconds) Record your performance audition video. Follow the steps outlined in the instructional video. Submit your audition. Once you have completed recording your intro and performance videos, you will need to upload them to an online hosting site. You will need to provide a link to the videos in your application in addition to a brief performer bio/resume. We recommend using Vimeo or YouTube to host your video -- reference this article for helpful information on how to use Vimeo. Selected performers will be contacted for a second, remote-based, audition. Final auditions will be in person in the New Orleans, LA studio. We’re bringing practical characters to life for our feature film project, Dynamic Duo— and we’re looking for people who are curious, creative, and excited to be part of something truly unique. This is an open performer call — no formal experience required! If you have a knack for performance, character, or movement and want to be part of an imaginative production process, we want to see what you can do. A short audition overview video is included with this posting to guide you through what we’re looking for and how to submit your video. Key Responsibilities As a MoMo Performer, you’ll help bring practical characters to life — creating expressive, believable performances through movement, collaboration, and craft. This role is physical, creative, and truly one-of-a-kind. This is not a voice over acting position, this is strictly animating with a character. This position will be in-house at our New Orleans, LA studio and expected to be on through April 2027. Perform characters through MoMo animation and movement, working closely with directors, camera teams, and fellow performers to capture each scene’s energy and emotion. Embrace the physical side of the job — expect to perform in unusual positions, crouched behind sets, under props, or in tight spaces while making the character come alive on camera and in close proximity to other performers. Repeat takes and movements with consistency and focus — great performances often come from many repetitions, and your ability to stay engaged and adaptable will make all the difference. Collaborate with an incredible team of artists, fabricators, filmmakers, and storytellers who share a passion for building something never seen before. Contribute creativity and enthusiasm — every movement, adjustment, and experiment helps shape how our characters and worlds come to life. This is hands-on, demanding work — but it’s also thrilling, collaborative, and deeply rewarding. If you’re someone who loves a challenge, thrives in creative environments, and wants to be part of a once-in-a-lifetime project, we want to see what you can do. Qualifications Experience is great, but enthusiasm and creativity matter most, formal performer experience is not required. You might come from a background in performance, animation, cosplay, acting, or something totally different — and that’s perfect. We’re especially interested in people who: Are excited about being part of something new and imaginative. Enjoy performing, experimenting, and learning by doing. Can bring character and emotion to life through physical expression. Work well in a team and take creative direction. Are open to trying new things and exploring the art of performing. Bonus (but not required): Any experience with puppets, acting, movement, dance, or performance art. Curiosity about film production, special effects, or practical creature work. At Swaybox Studios, we believe that great storytelling comes from diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, talents, and identities. We do not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
