About The Role We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee Moneycare’s Sydney service, leading and supporting a team to deliver high-quality financial counselling with professionalism and compassion. The role ensures compliance with Salvation Army, Moneycare and regulatory standards while fostering continual improvement. You will lead with clarity, confidence and care—supporting staff through change, strengthening practice and fostering a positive, valuesaligned team environment. Working with state and national management, you will drive service efficiency, support funding submissions and establish new programs. Alongside leadership responsibilities, you will maintain a caseload to meet accreditation requirements, providing holistic counselling that addresses broader life issues. This position requires autonomy in managing administration, scheduling and reporting, while remaining aligned with TSA values and mission. This full time, permanent role reporting to the State Manager based in Sydney, NSW. Salary is based on SCHADS Level 6. How you will make an impact Lead and motivate the Moneycare team to deliver high‑quality, community‑focused services, driving efficiency, strong collaboration and continuous improvement. Support service growth by contributing to funding submissions and helping launch new programs once funding is secured. Provide professional supervision that strengthens practice, supports staff wellbeing and ensures compliance with all standards. Build team capability through training, coaching and mentoring, fostering a values‑driven, client‑centred culture. Maintain a small caseload to support accreditation and deliver holistic, person‑centred financial counselling. What you will bring Diploma of Financial Counselling and strong grounding in financial counselling practice. Experience in welfare, community services, counselling or finance, with the confidence to lead in a complex service environment. Proven ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a positive, supportive and high‑performing culture. Strong communication skills that build trust, inspire confidence and support both clients and staff. Commitment to professional standards and alignment with TSA’s mission, values and service approach. Willingness to travel for training, development and broader leadership engagement.
