Description Position Title Monitor/Front-of-House Sound Engineer Department/Ministry/Location Production Supervisor Position Title Production Director Weekly Hours Typically Sunday-Thursday, 40 hours/week Position Status/ Classification Full-time, Salaried, Exempt Ministerial Status Non-Ministerial Position Summary: The Monitor Sound Engineer / FOH Engineer is responsible for delivering professional-quality audio monitoring for musicians, vocalists, and speakers while maintaining the ability to operate Front of House sound when needed. This individual must be highly experienced in professional live sound environments, proficient with DiGiCo consoles, Waves processing systems, advanced signal routing, and professional audio workflows. The role also includes leadership of volunteers, collaboration with production teams, rigging awareness, and technical system oversight. Ability to work with both professional staff and volunteers effectively. Commitment to excellence, ministry values, and collaborative culture. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, conferences, and special events. Professional conduct, servant leadership attitude, and strong organizational skills. Spiritual Requirements: The incumbent in this position must abide by the Abundant Lifestyle Agreement and the Abundant Culture Guide and must attend at least one Abundant church service per week. Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely lift and carry items up to 15 pounds in weight. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Mix and manage in-ear monitor systems for worship services, conferences, and events. Operate DiGiCo consoles and Waves processing environments at a professional level. Serve as Front of House engineer when coverage, rotations, or events require it. Manage patching, routing, gain structure, and overall audio system optimization. Maintain audio equipment inventory, stage boxes, cabling, microphones, and monitor systems. Train and mentor volunteer audio engineers and technicians. Collaborate with lighting, video, and staging teams on integrated production needs. Assist with rigging considerations, installations, and production infrastructure when applicable. Ensure consistent audio excellence aligned with ministry production standards. Participate in production planning meetings and event preparation. Support special events and other campuses as needed.
Responsibilities
The Monitor/FOH Engineer is primarily responsible for delivering professional-quality audio monitoring for performers and operating the Front of House sound system when required. This role also involves managing audio equipment, optimizing system performance, and training volunteer audio engineers.
