Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Days/Evenings (United States of America) * This position is represented by a Collective Bargaining Agreement * JOB SUMMARY: The Monitor Technician promptly and accurately identifies, documents, and communicates information on the cardiac rhythm status of patients being monitored to the registered nurse and the physician. Serves as the first point of contact for a monitored patient's call button. Appropriately demonstrates a sense of urgency. The Monitor Technician supports positive patient, family, and staff relationships. QUALIFICATIONS: BLS / Heartsaver EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent GED. EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in health care as Paramedic, EMT, Unit Clerk, Healthcare Clerical Associate, Unit Secretary, Nurse Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse. Computer literacy. Previous experience in a specialty area. Cardiac rhythm course SHIFT/SCHEDULE Full Time - Scheduled for 40 Weekly Hours Shift Time - Days/Evening rotation This position will have scheduled shifts every other weekend and every other holiday. Category I job classification – Employees who have jobs with tasks that routinely involve exposure or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and/or used sharps.
