Responsibilities Under the direction of the director and with the direct supervision of the Charge RN admits and discharges patients from the monitoring system; communicates cardiac rhythms to nursing when requested or when changes occur; prints and interprets rhythm strips, per policy. Rhythm strips are given to the Unit Secretary for filing. The monitor technician also maintains continuous monitoring for patients on cardiac telemetry; utilizing a high degree or critical thinking skills to both effectively and appropriately communicate, manage equipment, and alarm settings, per policy. Additional responsibilities include billing input for telemetry and/or other patient charges. This is a Full Time, Night Shift position. 7pm-7am Qualifications Education: - High School Diploma/GED Licensure/Certification/Registration: - BLS Ability to focus on computer screen with several monitors for a prolonged period of time during the night shift is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
The monitor technician admits and discharges patients from the monitoring system and communicates cardiac rhythms to nursing staff. They are also responsible for interpreting rhythm strips and maintaining continuous telemetry monitoring for patients.
