Monitoring Service Technology Specialist Reports to: Service Technology Sr. Manager Job Summary The Monitoring Service Technology Specialist is responsible for the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of advanced monitoring solutions across the service organization, with a strong emphasis on leveraging IoT (Internet of Things) technologies, robust data collection, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for real-time analytics and predictive insights. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and proactive maintenance of critical assets by integrating sensors, data acquisition systems, and intelligent analytics platforms. The specialist will collaborate closely with service teams and technology partners to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement enhancements that maximize system uptime and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain IoT-enabled monitoring platforms, ensuring seamless integration of sensors and data acquisition devices across diverse assets and environments. Develop and implement protocols for secure, reliable, and scalable data collection from IoT devices, including edge computing and cloud-based solutions. Configure and manage data pipelines to aggregate, cleanse, and store large volumes of monitoring data for analysis and reporting. Apply AI and machine learning models to monitoring data for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and optimization of asset performance. Develop and refine dashboards, alerts, and visualization tools to provide actionable insights to service teams and management, leveraging AI/ML-driven analytics. Collaborate with regional service organizations to ensure monitoring solutions meet operational needs, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity standards. Investigate root causes of events and outages using IoT and AI/ML data, and drive corrective actions in partnership with engineering and operations teams. Evaluate and integrate new IoT, AI, and ML technologies, sensors, and analytics platforms to enhance monitoring capabilities. Document monitoring processes, data collection methodologies, AI/ML model usage, and best practices for technology integration. Train service personnel on the effective use of IoT-enabled and AI/ML-powered monitoring tools and interpretation of data. Participate in pilot projects and technology trials to validate new monitoring, data collection, and AI/ML solutions. Gather and incorporate feedback from internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve monitoring effectiveness. Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and data privacy standards in all monitoring and data collection activities. Support the handoff of mature monitoring and AI/ML solutions to mainstream business units. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in monitoring, IoT integration, or technical support for critical infrastructure or technology environments. Hands-on experience with IoT platforms, sensor networks, data acquisition systems, and analytics tools. Experience developing or deploying AI and machine learning models for operational analytics, anomaly detection, or predictive maintenance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and drive actionable insights. Familiarity with edge computing, cloud data storage, and cybersecurity best practices for IoT and AI environments. Excellent communication skills for reporting, training, and cross-functional collaboration. Customer-focused mindset and commitment to operational excellence.
