Western Heights Montessori Academy is a well-established Montessori school that has seven campuses located across Mississauga and Oakville. We are looking for a Toddler Montessori Teacher to join our team.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of experience working with children at Toddler age (18 to 30 months)
  • Prior experience working in a Montessori school is a strong asset.
  • RECE, MACTE or AMI certificate a strong asset.
  • Good knowledge of CCEYA, Pubic Health and Fire Safety Standards
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification, Police Check and Immunization Records
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills
  • Flexible with work schedule
  • Loves teaching and caring for young children.

Responsibilities
  • Guide toddler development through individualized Montessori lessons, fostering independence, concentration, toilet independence, movement, and self-care.
  • Prepare and maintain the classroom environment to be orderly, beautiful, and complete with Montessori materials that meet children’s developmental needs.
  • Observe, record, and reflect on each child’s progress daily, adapting lessons and materials to sensitive periods and readiness.
  • Model and teach Grace and Courtesy, supporting children’s social-emotional development, conflict resolution, and respect for self, others, and the environment.
  • Facilitate uninterrupted work cycles, balancing child-led exploration with teacher-guided lessons.
  • Partner with families through open, respectful communication, regular developmental updates, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure health, safety, and licensing compliance while protecting each child’s dignity and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency, share insights, and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Mentor classroom assistants by modeling Montessori practice and fostering professional growth.
  • Engage with the school community by assisting with open houses, events, and parent tours, while representing the school’s Montessori values.
