Olympia Marble is a leading name in stonemasonry, specialising in high-quality monumental masonry and custom stonework. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Monumental Stonemason to join our dynamic team.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate III in Stonemasonry (Monumental/Installation)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Monumental Stonemason
  • Current White Card and Full Driver’s Licence
  • Solid experience working with granite, marble, sandstone, and limestone
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, and stone cutting machinery
  • Strong ability to read and follow detailed technical plans and templates
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of WH&S and Cemetery regulations, with a strong safety-first mindset
Responsibilities

As a Monumental Stonemason, you will be responsible for shaping and finishing natural stone to create and restore a range of structures and memorials. This includes splashbacks, architectural features, and heritage monument repairs. The duties are listed but not limited to as:

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures
  • Measure, mark out, cut, shape, and polish stone using hand tools and machinery
  • Cutting, shaping, and installing stone materials such as granite, marble, limestone, and sandstone for monuments, facades, and ornamental structures
  • Mixing and applying mortar and adhesives to affix stones and blocks securely.
  • Restore and repair damaged stonework at the assigned sites
  • Collaborating with site supervisors, builders, and other trades to integrate stonework with overall building construction.
  • Managing project schedules, site inspections, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and finish in all projects
  • Collaborate with team members and uphold strict safety standards on site.
