Morning Shift Cashier / Front End Clerk Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Morning Shift Cashier / Front End Clerk is the first and last point of contact for our customers and plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience from start to finish. You will embrace a customer-first strategy and maintain a safe and clean environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be a Morning Shift Cashier / Front End Clerk at Pellicano’s, you should have:

• At least 16 years of age.
• 1 year of customer service experience in a similar position (preferred).
• Availability for a morning shift, preferably 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (we are flexible on times).
• Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service with a positive attitude.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math problems accurately.
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions.
• Strong communication skills and an outgoing demeanor.
• A reliable and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates, including weekends and some holidays.

• Greet customers as they arrive at the store and during checkout, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
• Provide premier customer service by offering detailed information on products and guiding customers to the right sections.
• Operate a cash register to accurately scan and process items.
• Accurately process customer payments (cash, credit, or debit), returns, and exchanges.
• Scan and weigh produce to ensure correct pricing.
• Provide receipts and change to customers as needed.
• Record total daily sales and balance cash registers at the end of the shift.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all cleaning, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management, including stocking shelves and assisting in other departments as needed.
