Morning Show Host - Grande Prairie, AB
Are you a dynamic personality with a passion for entertaining, informing, and connecting with your audience every morning? We’re looking for a high-energy, engaging Morning Show Host to lead our weekday morning program. The ideal candidate is a compelling storyteller, a quick thinker, a community champion and a confident broadcaster who thrives on live interaction and knows how to create must-listen radio on 2day’s radio station.

DESCRIPTION:

• Be a part of the community; live, work and play here in the local market/community.
• Host an entertaining show listeners can relate to, live and locally focused show
• Know how to be a storyteller with creative, compelling local content
• Prepare daily ‘best of features’
• Update local weather content and support news team by sharing content
• Responsible for growing audience both on air and online
• Liaise with clients and being an ambassador for our Radio Station; be a prominent part of the community
• Make promotional appearances, as required and appear/host local events, community events and remote broadcasts
• Committing to growth with regular air checks and one on one discussions
• Assist with sales/programming by collaborating and developing creative promotions
• Contribute and optimize social media, including Facebook, and web content
• Add content to webpage including vlogs, best of segments, interviews, community events
• Update monitor and update community event pages
• Ensure Vista content strategy is executed consistently on air and online
• Take a leadership role on and off-air in the community and make promotional/service appearance
• Voice tracking additional shifts for other dayparts or stations as required
• Liaise with clients and being an ambassador for the Radio Station
• Manage scripts and requests to record commercial and promo voice-overs
• Other duties as assigned by management

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 3 years of broadcast experience
• Proficiency with social media
• Must enjoy a fast-paced work environment that is based on team & individual effort
• High level of initiative/self-motivation, goal oriented
• Conceptual, creative thinker and problem solver
• Solid audio editing and communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration, able to take direction and coaching from leaders and colleagues
• Ability to remain calm under pressure to meet deadlines and to work within a fast-paced environment both individually and with a team
• A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 5:00am – 1:00pm (40 hours per week)
