Morning Show Host – Fort Nelson, BC
Are you a dynamic personality with a passion for entertaining, informing, and connecting with your audience every morning? We’re looking for a high-energy, engaging Morning Show Host to lead our weekday morning program. The ideal candidate is a compelling storyteller, a quick thinker, a community champion and a confident broadcaster who thrives on live interaction and knows how to create must-listen radio on Lethbridge’s most listened to radio station.
DESCRIPTION:
- Host a morning show from 6am to 10am, delivering high-energy, engaging, and informative content.
- Create and tell compelling local stories that connect with the community.
- Actively participate in the community through live events and promotional appearances.
- Broadcast live from location sales remotes as needed.
- Commit to continuous improvement through regular air checks.
- Contribute to the station’s social media pages and website content.
- Collaborate with sales and programming teams on creative promotions.
- Serve as an ambassador for the station by liaising with clients.
- Voice track additional shifts for other dayparts or stations when required.
- Manage scripts and record commercial and promo voice-overs.
- Engage with listeners via phone, social media, and other interactive platforms.
- Conduct interviews, play music, and provide weather, traffic, news updates, and station promotions.
- Ensure smooth transitions between programming elements and handle technical issues during broadcasts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience as an on-air announcer or radio host, with a strong, clear, and engaging voice.
- Proven sales experience, preferably in radio or media sales, with a strong understanding of advertising and marketing.
- Excellent communication skills, both on-air and with clients.
- Comfortable with live broadcasts, working under pressure, and adjusting to changing circumstances quickly.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for radio and sales.
- Experience with radio production software (e.g., ENCO, Nexgen).
- Basic knowledge of audio editing and production techniques.
- A network of local business contacts or experience in local market sales.
- Must be comfortable working independently and managing all responsibilities in a single-person role.
