Description Position Summary: The Mortgage Loan Assistant will support mortgage loan officers by managing administrative tasks, ensuring smooth loan processing, and providing excellent customer service to clients throughout the mortgage application process. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping people achieve homeownership. Major Duties and Accountabilities: Takes part and embraces the Legacy Culture and gives outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Communicates with borrowers to collect documentation, answer questions, and provide updates. Assists in preparing, reviewing, and submitting loan applications and disclosures. Organizes and verifies borrower information including income, assets, credit reports, and property details. Ensures all loan files meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Works with underwriters, title companies, and real estate agents to facilitate timely closings. Maintain accurate records in loan origination systems and customer relationship management tools. Comply with all bank policies and procedures regarding areas of assignment and responsibility. Other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Required: A high school diploma or GED equivalent. 5 years mortgage experience Strong computer, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: Knowledge of Encompass, SureFire, Navigator and Director software. Knowledge of TILA RESPA Integrated Disclosure rule. Knowledge of loan terminology and elements/process required to close a loan. Knowledge of general banking principles and federal and/or state regulatory lending laws.
