As we continue to expand, we are searching for a Mortgage Loan Closer to join our amazing team!
The Mortgage Loan Closer plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and accurate closing process for mortgage loans. This position is responsible for supporting all closing activities, including reviewing loan documentation and verifying that all pre-closing stipulations have been cleared by underwriting. The Mortgage Loan Closer prepares the preliminary Closing Disclosure and works closely with the title company to validate final fees and charges. They also generate closing documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations. Throughout the process, the Mortgage Loan Closer communicates the status of the closing file with Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs), Senior Relationship Bankers (SRBs), buyers, sellers, realtors, and title companies. In addition to assisting members as needed, they help MLOs meet closing deadlines and serve as a backup for the Mortgage Loan Processor position. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and enjoys collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of related mortgage loan processing experience.
  • Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions including, knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria.
  • Strong typing abilities.
  • Able to use related computer applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace high volume environment.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews loan documentation, obtain and verify that pre-closing stipulations have been cleared and approved by mortgage underwriter.
  • Communicate status updates of loans to stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all state, federal and credit union policies, rules and regulations within areas of responsibility.
  • Assists the MLO with scheduling the closing.
  • Serves as a backup for the Mortgage Loan Processor
  • Completes reports and records promptly and accurately.
  • Balances closing fees with the title company and prepares closing disclosures for the member.
  • Generates and sends closing documents to both the member and title company.
  • Verifies the appraisal, interest rate lock, homeowner’s insurance, and flood certification.
  • Completes pre-closing employment verification and clears any remaining underwriting conditions prior to closing.
  • Completes reports and records promptly and accurately.
  • Professionally cross-sells credit union services.
