POSITION PURPOSE As a Mortgage Loan Officer at U1, you will play a crucial role in assisting members through the mortgage application process. You will be responsible for evaluating clients' financial situations, providing expert advice on loan options, and guiding them from application through to closing. Your goal will be to deliver excellent member service while meeting the company's sales targets and compliance standards. Is aligned with and promotes U1 values. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred Active NMLS Certification. Additional licenses may be required Possession of a valid driver's license, some local travel required Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Loan Officer with any type of mortgage loan experience is required. Minimum of two years previous experience originating first mortgage loans is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and be on call. Understanding of the Credit Union's field of membership. Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products. Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Strong interviewing and written communications skills Well-organized with strong attention to detail Strong financial math skills Ability to analyze financial documents and assess loan risk. Knowledge of mortgage-related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria. Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions Experience with loan closing procedures and document preparation. Advanced knowledge of mortgage loan products – FHA/VA, conventional, construction lending and portfolio programs Knowledge of Microsoft Office products Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
