Description O Bee Credit Union is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer to join our amazing team. What You’ll Do: As our Mortgage Loan Officer, you will play a pivotal role in providing mortgage loan services to our members. Your primary responsibilities will be to originate high-quality mortgage loans, initiate promotional strategies to attract new members, and meet with potential members to understand their financial needs and find the best mortgage product to suit those needs. The Details: Location: Lacey, WA Pay: Base pay plus commissions. Base pay is $17.13 an hour. Participate in training for marketing, sales, and scenario techniques to effectively sell, package, and close consumer mortgages. Interview loan applicants and assist with the loan application process. Keep up to date on all credit union products and services, policies and procedures, and rules and regulations to cross-sell credit union products. Attend local realtor and business functions and represent O Bee at designated sponsored events. Provide information to Members regarding lending policy, terms, interest rates, and payment configurations. Provide guidance and information relevant to the risks and benefits of each program. Ensure all necessary documents are signed by the borrower. Ensure that all loans have proper documentation for regulatory compliance. If a loan is denied, work with the member to provide recommendations or alternative options for other possible ways to secure a loan in the future. Implement new loan products and services in accordance with management direction. Underwrite and approve loans based on automated system. Notify senior management of any suspicious activities, providing information needed to complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Requirements Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least three years of mortgage lending experience in a financial service setting. Must have experience with the origination process, underwriting criteria, and secondary market guidelines. Must have experience with FHA, VA and USDA and Reverse Mortgages. Must have flexible hours – availability for weekend hours and after hours are a must. Must be able to pass a background and credit check. Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and must maintain registration with NMLS as a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
