WITH:

  • Positive attitude
  • Highly efficient with a strong sense of urgency to close loans quickly
  • Passionate about helping others?
  • Underwriting experience is a plus
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Operations Specialist.
You’ll handle application structuring, pre-processing, loan setup, pre-underwriting, and file submission to lenders and post-conditional loan processor, working closely with borrowers, referral partners, lenders, the loan processor, and the loan officer.
Your goal: Ensure every loan is packaged accurately, meets guidelines, and moves smoothly through the pipeline, while also having an optimistic and positive attitude.
As a key member of our top-producing team, you’ll oversee everything from contract to conditional loan approval before handing the file to our post-approval loan processor, and then managing communications all the way through closing, with assistance from our CRM (BNTouch).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years combined experience as a Mortgage Loan Processor, Loan Partner (broker model preferred), loan officer, and/or Underwriter.

SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, and Non-QM guidelines. We are highly specialized and passionate about the VA loan program.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet (exceed when possible) multiple deadlines without micromanagement.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, organization, and time-management skills.

PERSONALITY:

  • Positive, friendly, proactive, and a true team player who also thrives in a fast-paced, independent environment.
  • We are a patriotic group who loves our country, and we are proud to serve our many military servicemembers and veteran clients.

Responsibilities
  • Loan File Management: Collect, organize, and review borrower documentation for accuracy and completeness (using Arive LOS, which integrates into our CRM, BNTouch).
  • Guideline & Program Research: Identify the best loan programs and pricing, ensuring files meet investor and compliance requirements, while being mindful of client and team experience. Pricing matters, but it isn’t more important than happy customers and referral partners. We’re known for leaving no stone unturned and doing everything in our power to help clients and referral partners get to the finish line.
  • Pre-Underwriting & Loan Structuring: Analyze credit, income, assets, and property details; run AUS; and structure loans according to agency and lender guidelines. *We have a subscription to Mortgage Guidelines (previously known as Mortgage Currentcy), which saves a ton of time in this area—and keeps us current with raw agency guidelines. This helps a ton when working through or around lender overlays.
  • File Submission & Pipeline Tracking: Prepare, organize, and submit complete loan packages to lenders; monitor file status through approval stages.
  • Communication: Act as the primary liaison between borrowers, the loan officer, the loan processor, the business development & communications manager, referral partners, and lenders to keep files moving efficiently.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Problem-Solving: Anticipate potential issues from a real, yet optimistic perspective; request necessary documentation early, and resolve challenges quickly and thoroughly
