VWR Capital Corp. is a small but dynamic financial services company headquartered in Langley, BC. We are seeking a cheerful, conscientious, full-time Mortgage Recovery Administrator to join our growing team.
VWR Capital Corp. (VWR) traces its roots back to the early 1990s when our founder saw the opportunity to establish a Mortgage Investment Corporation (MIC). Today, VWR has a portfolio of over $750 million in mortgages under administration across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
As a Mortgage Recovery Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the collection process for our portfolio of loans. You will work closely with borrowers to establish open lines of communication, negotiate repayment terms, and implement effective strategies to recover outstanding debts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong communication and negotiation skills, and has a deep understanding of lending practices.

· A Business or Financial Services Diploma and/or mortgage or real estate experience is an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

3–5 years of experience in an office environment, with a background in administration and/or collections, preferably within the financial or mortgage services sector. Solid understanding of lending practices and applicable regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential to effectively perform the duties of this role. A satisfactory Background Check is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

· Initiate contact with borrowers to discuss their financial situation who have any of the following issues: overdue payments, outstanding property taxes, strata arrears, registration of judgements or legal action commenced by another lender, or 3rd party insurance arrears.
· Utilize various communication channels (phone, email, mail) to establish and maintain contact.
· Negotiate and set up suitable repayment plans with borrowers, considering their financial capabilities and our company policies.
· Regularly monitor and review NSF and arrears reports and track borrower accounts to identify and address delinquencies promptly.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and negotiations with borrowers.
· Respond promptly to borrower inquiries and concerns, providing clear and concise information about repayment options and terms.
· Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights that facilitate effective debt recovery.
· Coordinate and manage the foreclosure process from initiation to completion.
· Effectively collaborate and communicate with lawyers, borrowers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and compliant foreclosure process.
· Prepare regular reports on the status of outstanding debts, collection efforts, and trends for management review.
· Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the collection process.

· Assist with some aspects of mortgage administration if required, including preparing mortgage payout statements and processing mortgage payouts.

  • Look for ways to improve and streamline processes to be more efficient and effective.
