Houston Habitat has built more than 1,200 homes in 12 Houston neighborhoods, including the Fifth Ward, Clinton Park, Settegast, Sunnyside, and Carverdale. In addition to building, the organization has also repaired homes throughout Houston due to natural disasters; since Hurricane Harvey Houston Habitat has repaired more than 700 homes for families who are without resources to make repairs. Position Overview The Mortgage Services Lead Coordinator supports the mission and vision by exhibiting the following behaviors: respect, commitment to our homebuyers and to the community, as well as being held accountable. Requirements General Responsibilities: Accounting Record monthly mortgage entries based on data from Covey and Data2. Record loan modification entries and loan payoff entries as needed. Provide AP with monthly invoices for third-party mortgage holders. Reallocate water bills using meter readings. Deposit all incoming checks. Reconciliations Reconcile Borrower Portfolio Report (BPR) from Covey. Reconcile Data2 reports. Reconcile all mortgage receivable accounts, including contra accounts. Reconcile late fees, corporate advances, interest, etc. Loan Payoffs Prepare “Paid Off” folders and move files. Update Paid Off Loans tracker. Post payoffs in Data2. Prepare Lien Releases and check requests. Assemble and distribute recorded document packages. Delinquent Loans Verify existence of Contra or Second Lien. Request Statements, Payoffs, and Reinstatements from Covey. Prepare first-notice letters. Prepare modification documents. Contact homeowners and schedule signings. Prepare Demand documents if needed. New Loans Prepare new loan folders and trackers. Prepare loan packages and send them to Covey. Ensure Covey receives impound amounts. Request Statements of Account. Set up new loans in Loan Base. Answer calls and homeowner requests. Respond to Covey inquiries. Notarize documents. Miscellaneous Duties Respond to HOA inquiries and attend annual meetings. Request annual HOA compliance documents. Collaboration and Communication Maintain regular communication with homeowners. Work with Covey and third-party mortgage holders. Communicate effectively with internal teams. Compliance and Auditing Support external audits with documentation. Provide documentation for third-party audits. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Experience & Skills Required Associate degree or equivalent experience (bachelor’s preferred). Mortgage servicing or accounting experience preferred. Organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mortgage software. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Physical Requirements Indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs. Use of computers for extended periods. Position Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch).
