With strong year-over-year growth, we are seeking a Mortgage Underwriter to join us and play a key role in strengthening our service excellence through the Deal Desk. Through the CFS Deal Desk, our centralized hub for underwriting support, we ensure consistency, efficiency, and clear communication. As a tech-forward company, we leverage the latest tools to improve efficiency, compliance, and the client experience.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid mortgage license (multi-province and Ontario Level 2 an asset).
• Proven mortgage underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of products, guidelines, compliance, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with mortgage software and compliance systems.
• Positive, team-first attitude.

• Act as the main contact for agents and team leads via the Deal Desk.
• Review applications/documents for accuracy and compliance with lender guidelines.
• Apply underwriting expertise to assess risk and request additional documentation as needed.
• Communicate approval or decline decisions clearly.
• Provide proactive updates and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues quickly.
