Medical Assistant II – Multiple Locations & Specialties Clinic, schedule, and work details vary by location Potential Work Locations & Clinics Assignment will vary by location and clinic needs and may include: * OB/GYN – West * MSK Center North – Multi-Specialty * Schwarz Cancer Center – Supportive Care Clinic * Multi-Specialty – Carmel * Primary Care – Fishers * Primary Care – Noblesville * Primary Care – Methodist, University, Riley, Fishers, North, and West * Medical Diagnostic Center   Position Details * Employment Type: Full-Time * Shift: Days * Hours: 40 hours per week * Schedule: Varies by location * Weekends: Varies by location * Holidays: No   About the Clinics * Team-based environment with approximately 16 Medical Assistants, depending on location * Relationship‑based, patient‑centered care model * Focus on collaboration, continuity of care, and high-quality patient experiences   Key Responsibilities Under the supervision of the designated supervisor and assigned physician, the Medical Assistant II provides direct patient care in accordance with organizational standards. Responsibilities may vary by clinic and include: * Rooming patients and assisting providers during clinical visits * Obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient histories * Performing blood draws and point‑of‑care testing (e.g., urine testing) * Communicating with patients regarding instructions, test results, and follow‑ups * Supporting smooth patient flow and ensuring ordered procedures and treatments are completed * Performing general laboratory work and front-office support as needed * Completing registration and scheduling activities per departmental procedures * Maintaining accurate EMR documentation * Entering computerized physician orders when directed by the assigned physician * Precepting Medical Assistants or MA Externs as requested by leadership   What We’re Looking For * Current Medical Assistant certification required * Passion for patient care and making a meaningful difference * Reliable and dependable attendance * Compassionate, patient-focused approach * Positive attitude with a strong, team-first mindset * Comfort building long-term relationships with patients   Required Education & Certifications * High school diploma or equivalent required * Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required * Current Medical Assistant certification from one of the following:  * American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) * American Medical Technologists (RMA) * National Health Career Association (CCMA) * National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) * American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) * AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare workers required * Additional advanced life support certifications may be required by clinic or specialty   Knowledge & Skills * Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA requirements * Familiarity with ICD‑10 and CPT coding * Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures * Understanding of insurance plans and third‑party payers * TB validation to administer or read (or obtained within 6 months of hire, preferred) * Ability to meet clinical competency requirements per current clinical, point‑of‑care, and skills policies * Basic math proficiency and strong attention to accurate data collection and entry   Why Join Our Team? * Support patients during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives * Strong emphasis on:  * Patient comfort, trust, and dignity * Relationship‑based care * Teamwork and mutual support * Welcoming and supportive environment where:  * Patients feel heard, respected, and cared for * Team members feel proud of the work they do every day
