Description Are you looking for a fun summer job where you can make a difference? MOSAIC Innovation Camp is a brand new summer offering for Middle School students in the Mamaroneck school district focusing on fun career skills development while building a diverse community where anyone can be anything they want to be. What you'll be doing You’re joining a summer camp team where roles and tasks are collaborative and shared. As a Counselor you’ll be responsible for leading a group of 10-12 diverse and changing campers ensuring safety, providing guidance, community building and most importantly, fun. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: The duties for this role include, but are not limited to: Lead a group of children, whose members may change each week, for a four-week program serving middle school children in rising grades 6 to 8 Follow weekly group schedule, ensuring on time arrival to all recreation based activities (Studio Labs) and career skills programming (SPARK Labs) Assist campers while participating in skills and project based activities led by Educators and visiting Instructors and Career Professionals Lead group day to day operations such as coordinating bathroom breaks, guiding behavior and preparing your group for dismissal Lead and accompany campers on career based field trips modeling appropriate behavior and ensuring camper safety Be the “first line of defense” for camper behavioral issues and conflicts helping to diffuse the situation and avoid possible escalations in the future Serve as a role model for campers and other staff by: Arriving on time, fully ready to participate Taking joy in learning new things with the children Supporting a drug free, screen free, healthy environment Attend all orientation week training sessions Enforce the highest level of safety at all times, adhering to camp policies and procedures Maintain accurate group attendance records on a daily basis Maintain confidentiality of camper emergency data for your group Requirements We are looking for team players who are friendly, flexible, and want to give back. 15%+ of staff have been working for us for 5+ years. Requirements MOSAIC Counselors must be at least 18 years old by the start of the program, high preference given to those at least 19 years and/or entering their Sophomore year of college Previous experience working with youth such as babysitting or coaching; high preference given to those with experience working with youth in a group recreational setting such as camp, youth group or after school programs Availability to work the entire camp season and attend all required orientations and trainings Besides that you might: Have a desire to make a difference in the lives of kids Are Bilingual (Spanish/English) Love to explore cool career choices with hands on experiences All employees must: Possess a valid social security card and NYS state identification Pass a background check with fingerprint approval if you are not a Mamaroneck School District employee (we will provide instructions as part of the onboarding process) Provide two professional references if you are not a Mamaroneck School District employee and are a new employee REQUIRED PROGRAM DATES & TIMES: Camp-season: June 29, 2026 to July 24, 2026 (No camp Friday, July 3rd) 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Orientation week days (June 29th - Jul 2nd) 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
