JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

SKILLS

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair vehicle issues.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools effectively and safely.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.

Responsibilities
  • Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Inspect vehicle components including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Identify any defects or issues that may affect vehicle safety or performance.
  • Complete detailed reports of inspections and communicate findings to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests conducted and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to resolve complex vehicle issues as needed.
  • Ensure the workshop is kept clean and organised at all times.
