ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a Motor Assessor with trade qualifications in mechanical repairs (ideally, heavy agriculture/farm machinery), automotive body repairs, motor assessing, panel beating and/or spray painting.
You will effectively assess, validate, and negotiate repair costs as per agreed claims settlement authority levels and in accordance with Policy coverage, Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Insurance experience
  • Experience in agricultural/farm machinery, motor claims and damaged vehicle assessing
  • Experience in repair procedures of damaged motor vehicles, commercial vehicles and farming equipment and machinery
  • Must be a team player, work without supervision, client service focus and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Trade certificate – automotive repairs
  • Heavy machinery qualifications would be advantageousMS Word & Excel skills are an advantage

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess and adjust quotations as necessary of damaged vehicles of all classes
  • Research and establish vehicle market values
  • Type client reports in an accurate & timely manner
  • Update Assessing workflow system as required
  • Answer Client, Insured and Third Party queries effectively
  • Answer incoming calls in a timely manner, as required
  • Update Claims Management System as required by Adjuster
  • Effectively deal with service/product replacement providers
  • Effectively Manage Motor Email Inbox
  • Manage the allocation of assessments to the sub-contractor network as required
  • First point of contact regarding technical queries
  • Review incoming assessor reports to ensure accurate and consistent as required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, sub-contractors and other Crawford divisionsPerform on-road Assessments as requested from time to time
