Description Position Summary Position is responsible for supervising the maintenance personnel and repair operation of the division’s motor coach fleet and other company vehicles ensuring the fleet is kept in a state of operating excellence to safeguard that the vehicles present no problems or interruptions to operations. Fleet operations, maintenance, safety, and purchasing shall meet on a regular basis to guarantee interruption free service and to be in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Responsibilities and Duties This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive, and incumbents are expected to perform all duties as assigned or directed. Directs the daily operations of the maintenance shops in the overhaul and repair of the division’s motor coach fleet equipment. Coordinates services between the three maintenance locations and make maintenance decisions concerning all motor vehicles in the division’s motor coach fleet. Schedules mechanics and staff, assigns work, and supervises staff at three maintenance locations. Inspects the work of the mechanics and evaluates their performance through personal quality control checks. Promotes high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in the operation of the maintenance shops. Identifies training requirements for mechanics and schedules time for appropriate training. Maintains an efficient system for state inspections, routine, and preventive services for all motor coach equipment in accordance with state guidelines.
