We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our growing team in Moorabbin. This is a full-time role offering stability, competitive remuneration, and the opportunity to work with a well-established automotive repairer committed to excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (including at least two years of on-the-job training), or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment and repair techniques.
  • Roadworthy certification licence (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines, steering systems, transmissions, and other key vehicle components.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engine assemblies, steering mechanisms, braking systems, and other mechanical parts as required.
  • Carry out repairs and replacements of worn, damaged, or defective components using workshop manuals and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct scheduled servicing, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to ensure vehicles run smoothly and comply with emission standards.
  • Use modern diagnostic equipment and computer-based systems to test and analyse vehicle performance.
  • Reassemble and test vehicles after repairs to confirm safety, efficiency, and optimal performance.
  • Perform road tests to verify work quality and confirm roadworthiness.
  • Provide accurate assessments of repair needs and prepare work required for roadworthy certification.
  • Ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with clients regarding issues and repair solutions.
  • Support colleagues in the workshop, assist with complex jobs, and contribute to maintaining a safe and organised workplace.
