Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 or more years of professional experience in mechatronics engineering or a related field (relevant internship or graduate engineering role may be considered).
  • Understanding of the principles of mechanical, electrical, and software system design.
  • Understanding of the principles of control systems and design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA) for mechanical design.
  • Hands-on experience with mechatronic systems, e.g. sensors, actuators, robots, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment, with a talent for organization, collaboration, and communication.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary task is to support the development and operation of mechatronics systems that improve the productivity and capability of our aerodynamics development processes, across both motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you’ll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to overcome a range of challenging technical and engineering obstacles. Your role will contribute significantly to our competitiveness both in motorsports and production vehicles.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support the design, development, and integration of complex mechatronic systems to be used for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
  • Define system specifications that meet or exceed application requirements.
  • Identify and evaluate mechatronic products from external suppliers for suitability for our applications.
  • Design mechanical, electrical and control system components
  • Conduct system-level testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of the systems you help develop.
  • Support the delivery of both prototype and production solutions
  • Maintain and improve your solutions after deployment.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.
