Description

GA Checkpoint is the largest exclusive Yamaha Motorsports & Marine dealership on the west coast. We stock and service Yamaha’s full line of motorsports products ranging from motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs, side by sides, and personal watercrafts. We have been growing and supporting the motorsports industry in the lower mainland for more than 50 years. Our dealership has maintained its 5-star status and newly Elite Status for many consecutive years.
We are currently looking for a full-time motorsports sales position to be filled by someone who understands and appreciates this culture. Being a motorsports enthusiast is not required (but it does help)- we are just looking for someone who has experienced a similar kind of passion, and is eager to dive into and learn about the exciting world of motorsports! This is a full-time position from Tuesday to Saturday.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Creating sales leads through various means
  • Working the showroom at the dealership
  • Posting online ads on social media platforms and other online markets
  • Attending events and trade shows and working our booth (including setup and tear down)
  • Fostering relationships with clients- our service does not end once the sale is complete
  • Using the dealership CRM to manage and pursue incoming and continued leads
  • Showroom/yard organization and cleanliness

SKILLS

  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent service and are committed to maintaining and nurturing these relationships, ensuring our customers trust us and know their interests are our top priority.
  • Strong communication skills. Around 70% of leads all come from online sources whether they come from CRM or personal messaging apps such as Facebook Marketplace. Effective communication means not only clearly conveying information but also actively listening to the customer’s wants and needs.
  • Consistent & effective follow-up practices. Sales may take days or weeks, but success comes from being proactive – the customer will see you are invested in their interests.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a team. This role requires to work alongside colleagues in different departments throughout the sales process. Everyone supports one another to achieve success, and there may be occasions where you need to take on multiple roles to get the job done. Asking for help when needed is an important part of this skill.
  • Passion to learn and the ability retain new information. While we don’t expect you to learn everything immediately, we value your eagerness to learn all about our different products & models! The more confident you are in your knowledge, the easier it will be to create that trust with customers and drive sales.
  • Tech-Savvy and Quick to Adapt. You should be comfortable using a computer, including navigating the internet, working with spreadsheets, and learning new software. We regularly use online inventory management tools and dealership CRM systems, both at the desk and on mobile devices
  • Understanding of Social Media. We use Youtube, Instagram and Facebook quite regularly to promote and sell as well as create content for our channels. Go check us out! (Appearing in videos is not required but we do like to have fun if you are interested – and we’re always open to listening to ideas!)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous sales experience
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and surpassing sales targets. (Please provide a reference!)
  • Knowledge of motorsports products and services is an asset (Experience is a bonus!)
  • Availability to work during shows, typically on weekends, with dates provided in advance (You will need reliable transportation as this role requires travel to shows & events, which may be difficult to access via local transit!)
At GA Checkpoint, we understand what we sell - FUN. From the moment a customer walks in, we want their experience to be an easy and enjoyable one. They are coming to us not only to fulfill a dream or hobby but to become part of our community.
