Seasonal (Seasonal) JOB TITLE: Mountain Host Coordinator DIVISION: Mountain Operations REPORTS TO: Senior Manager Guest Services LOCATION: Solitude Mountain Resort CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time/ Seasonal POSITION: This position will be responsible for creating and sending out host schedules, helping the Events Department with coverage for Nordic Nights, Coca Cola Concert Series, Smores parties at Moonbeam. Any other scheduled events that need support. Coordinator will also help with making sure Hosts have their gear check and ski assessments completed to help with on mountain tours, signage control and information stations around the resort. Will work along side Guest Services to take care of guest needs. Hosts will provide a positive contact between guests and Solitude Mountain Resort. Hosts will work from the base areas (Moonbeam and the Village), and at various on-mountain stations to greet, inform and guide guests to services and facilities. Working on snow requires significant physical skills and awareness. Staff working on snow and/or skiing will need a snow skills assessment annually and equipment testing prior to the start of on-snow work. Solitude has on duty helmet policy for employees that are required to ski or ride for their job. Hosts may also be asked to work various on-mountain events throughout the season. SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience as a mountain host, similar work at another resort or direct customer service is preferred Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Good verbal and written communication skills Additional language is a plus Able to ski/ride at an intermediate or expert level is preferred Able to work as part of a team and collaborate accordingly Good problem-solving skills Friendly and outgoing personality; tactful and appropriate JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a first point of positive, friendly, and welcoming contact between Solitude Mountain Resort and guests Greet skiers, riders, and groups Be a source of information regarding all mountain operations, facilities, activities, schedules, trends, and conditions Able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, split shifts, occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Able to work in inclement weather on a regular basis for log periods of time Distribute informational materials as needed Work at areas of the resort as assigned Accomplish tasks in the absence of constant supervision Anticipate and resolve guests’ needs Knowledge of the resort emergency operating plans and procedures Provide tours for guests around the mountain venue and facilities Assist all other mountain departments as needed to help improve delivery of services Perks of Working Here: Work & Play in the Mountains: Embrace the stunning Wasatch Mountains.
