Job Details Job Location: Killington, VT 05751 Position Type: Full-Time Seasonal Job Category: Mountain Sports Compensation and Benefits: Compensation: Starting pay rate of $21.75 - $22.62, actual wage will be adjusted based on experience Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Job Summary: The Team Leader supports, mentors, and supervises instructors across Mountain Sports group lessons. This role assists with daily operations, guest service, on-hill supervision, and training efforts to ensure exceptional lesson delivery and instructor support. Summary of Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Provide functional and administrative supervision of up to 30 full-time, part-time, and on-call instructors Coordinate and support daily operations for group lessons Assist with the organization and launch of program groups including weekends, holidays, and peak periods Assign instructors based on certifications, experience, and student needs Support lesson check-in, registration, and guest flow for accurate student placement Observe on-hill instruction and provide real-time feedback and mentorship to instructors Maintain effective communication between instructors, supervisors, and guests Assist with instructor training, including teaching strategies, classroom management, and technical clinics Serve as a guest service liaison, communicating participant progress and addressing concerns Monitor lesson terrain and communicate grooming, signage, or safety needs Collaborate with MSS leadership on scheduling, staffing, and payroll logistics Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Minimum of two years of experience as a snow sports instructor or team leader, preferably within group or seasonal programs PSIA/AASI Level 1 certification or higher preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to ski/ride at an intermediate level or above Must be willing to work with all ages including children ages 4 and up Ability to ski/snowboard, demonstrating maneuvers to students throughout the duration of a lesson for up to 7 hours per day required Ability to work in all weather conditions Must be able to lift 50 lbs Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Passion for sharing the mountain experience Strong communication as well as interpersonal skills Experience working with children is preferred but not required Outdoor related experience preferred but not required It is the policy of Killington/Pico Ski Resort Partners, LLC to provide equal opportunity and employment to all staff and applicants.
