Driver/Movers are an integral part of our business. Having Van and/or 2 to 7-ton truck driving experience is key. Candidates must have a Class 5 BC driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract and a background check. Drivers are safe and proficient at driving Vans and/or 2 to 7-ton non-airbrake trucks, with some knowledge of the Lower Mainland. Driver/movers work well with a team and address all clients professionally. Previous moving experience is an asset.
The following attributes are required for an Edgemont Driver/Mover:
·Willingness to learn, even if little or no moving experience
· Strong work ethic, team player attitude and a professional image
· Organized, detail oriented and adaptable
· Reliable, punctual and communicate well with customers and teammates
· The ability to pack trucks most efficiently and safely as possible
· Neat handwriting that is easy to read
· Solid experience in driving a van, 2, 3, 5, and/or 7-ton truck, a good driving record and a clean background check
· Ability to lift and carry 60+ pounds, sometimes on stairs, in all types of weather with some long days and Saturday shifts
Edgemont Driver/Movers will:
· Tag and list inventory of household goods
· Drive fleet vehicles; including vans, 2, 3, 5, and 7-ton trucks.
· Maneuver vehicles in tight spaces while being aware of ground clearance, height restrictions, surroundings, and district/city bylaws
· Complete invoices and paperwork for customers; clarify any questions they may have
· Complete pre and post-trip reports in town and out-of-town
· Lift and carry 60+ pounds, sometimes on stairs, in all types of weather with some long days and weekends
· Wrap and pack furniture, specialty items, and glass to protect from damage
· Travel throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island
· Use moving equipment such as furniture dollies, piano skids, pallet jacks, power tailgates, etc for safe handling and moving of household and commercial goods
