Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated MP&P Technical Analyst to join team located in Ridley Park, PA.
This role requires the individual to be on-site in the Materials & Process Technology Chemistry Laboratory, where they will support production by ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
Responsibilities include conducting receiving inspections, managing shelf life extensions, and performing process control testing in accordance with applicable specifications, all within a fast-paced environment.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Chemical Analyses: Perform chemical analyses such as titrations, pH measurements, conductivity tests, acid number assessments, and water content evaluations with high precision. Ensure that all results meet specification requirements and are documented accurately.
2. Communicate Test Results: Promptly communicate test results, any out-of-spec conditions, and the need for re-testing to the Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to facilitate timely decision-making.
3. Maintain Lab Equipment: Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained in good working condition through regular calibration, cleaning, and updating of maintenance logs to guarantee reliable performance.
4. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Create and maintain clear, standardized SOPs for all laboratory procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with best practices.
5. Monitor Inventory Levels: Oversee inventory levels of lab reagents and consumables, ensuring that all chemicals are properly labeled and stored in accordance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) guidelines.
6. Prioritize Lab Work: Prioritize laboratory work based on its impact on production and quality to minimize delays and ensure efficient operations.

THE POSITION MUST MEET EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS, THEREFORE A “US PERSON” AS DEFINED BY 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 IS REQUIRED. “US PERSON” INCLUDES US CITIZEN, LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT, REFUGEE, OR ASYLEE.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in chemical lab environment
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with chemical testing methods and instrumentation
  • Experience in quality control procedures and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards/requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in following standard operating procedures and instructions, generating lab reports, and maintaining lab records

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Associate degree or diploma in Chemistry or related scientific discipline
  • Proficient in using equipment, such as titration apparatus
  • Precision in measuring, calculating, and recording data
  • Familiarity with handling and disposing hazardous materials
  • Ability to document results clearly and communicate effectively to business partners
  • Collaborating with other lab technicians and engineers
