Description

The post holder will be an experienced MRI Radiographer working autonomously, being accountable for your own professional actions. You will supervise, mentor and appraise less experienced MRI/CT radiographers, Radiology department assistants and students.
A senior radiographer post working in the CT& MRI Department Responsible for supporting the MRI Lead Radiographer in all aspects of MRI scanning.
To assist in the training and supervising of the radiographers and RDAs across the 3 MRI scanners.
Responsible for supporting the CT Lead Radiographer in all aspects of CT scanning.
To ensure equipment is used in a safe and correct manner
The post-holder will be expected to work at both sites (Wexham and Heatherwood hospitals).
Commitment to shift work over a 7-day period and participating on the MRI on-call service.

  • To ensure that image quality is of a high standard and audit this as appropriate
  • To work in accordance with the local rules, Ionising Radiation regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations, and the Trust’s Policies and Procedures
  • To report promptly any equipment faults to the CT or MRI Lead Radiographers.
  • When required to liaise with equipment manufacturers and users and arrange for repair and servicing equipment.
  • To assist in the implementation of new protocols and procedures as required by the Lead CT and MRI Lead Radiographer in line with evidence based best practice
  • To participate in Clinical Audit when required
  • To ensure the maintenance of routine stock level
  • To undertake appraisal on specified members of staff
  • To keep up to date with changes in technique and equipment
  • To rotate to other areas of the Radiology Department when requested.
  • To undertake any other duties relevant to the post when requested.

Undertake other duties, which may be requested by the manager, to facilitate the smooth running of the department
