MRI/CT TECHNOLOGIST

The primary purpose of this position is the performance of quality urological MRI procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures to ensure accurate imaging information for use in diagnosis and treatment. Based on coverage needs of the clinic, technologist may be asked to provide general x-ray and c-arm coverage as well.

Responsibilities

1) Maintains competency in MRI and CT examinations, procedures and techniques. Follows all MRI and related radiology policies and procedures related to obtaining images, ordering supplies, preparing and operating the equipment, evaluating images for technical quality, clerical function and maintaining patient records.
2) Responsible for all aspects of MRI and CT examinations and reporting. Responsible for communication of critical test results to MD/Provider and nursing staff.
3) Demonstrates skill and knowledge to identify disease abnormalities and physiological processes while performing MRI and CT examinations.
4) Responsible for screening patients for any ferromagnetic objects and MRI safety zone requirements.
5) Must be able to solve problems related to daily operations.
6) Maintains the UroHealth Partners (UHP) approved recall system to follow-up on tests ordered. Ensures assistance and encourages patient compliance of future or current MD/Provider orders.
7) Collaborates with MD/Provider regarding test results and works with MD/Provider and nursing staff to provide optimal patient outcomes.
8) Assists in the training of new hires.
9) Effectively organizes time, equipment, supplies, to carry out daily responsibilities.
10) Uses equipment effectively by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care.
11) Confirms that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted Standards of Practice and organizational policies and procedures.
12) Maintains order and cleanliness of imaging and patient care areas.
13) Consults with the Radiology Manager to ensure day-to-day operations are in accordance with written policies and in compliance with various regulatory and accrediting agencies.
14) Assists with the development and monitoring of established clinical protocols as directed by Physician(s).
15) Responsible for the delivery of efficient and effective patient care services.
16) Helps in determining clinical service goals and effectively manages resources to achieve the goals.
17) Promotes a customer service-oriented relationship with Physicians to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
18) Responsible for the development and updating of clinic policies and procedures within areas of expertise which are reflective of agreed upon practices.
19) Ensures adherence to all established procedures and safety programs.
20) Maintains an awareness and understanding of current regulatory legislation and accreditation standards and their implications for the clinic and daily operations.
21) Must work as a team member and perform actions consistently with established UHP policies and procedures including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Perform other duties as assigned.
