ABOUT THE ROLE

Jones Radiology is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MRI Device Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This critical role is designed to support the MRI modality by developing and enhancing clerical policies and procedures, ensuring seamless workflows, and providing expert advice on appointment scheduling to maximise efficiency.
As an MRI Device Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring patient safety, managing bookings for patients with medical implants, and liaising with medical professionals to ensure the highest standard of care. This position calls for strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a patient-centred approach to support our clerical and technical teams.
The successful candidate will work part-time (minimum 3 days per week) and will be based at the Jones Radiology Head Office in Eastwood, SA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational and Leadership:

  • Be readily accessible to MRI technical staff during scanning times and working hours.
  • Develop, document, and update the MRI Safety Requested Appointment tab in the Jones Radiology system.
  • Educate and inform administrative teams and patients about MRI policies and procedures.
  • Continuously assess and improve clerical workflows through education and capability building.
  • Provide leadership and operational support to the clerical team to enhance service delivery.
  • Offer expert advice to clerical and technical staff on MRI procedures related to implanted devices.
  • Be the primary point of contact for pacemaker, neurostimulator, and DBS patients, as well as VIP referrers and urgent cases.

Coordination and Scheduling:

  • Coordinate MRI appointments for patients with conditional or complex medical devices.
  • Ensure all necessary safety protocols are followed and appointments are scheduled efficiently.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Liaise with referring physicians, cardiologists, device manufacturers, and patients to gather essential information for MRI procedures.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders, including pacemaker vendors and implant device manufacturers, to ensure patient safety.
  • Coordinate with hospitals and medical records departments to obtain implant and surgical details.
  • Collaborate with other medical imaging providers to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of device information and MRI safety forms.
  • Document all communications and actions taken regarding device assessments.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
