About The Cromwell Hospital The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London receive both UK and international patients. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, theatres, medical and surgical wards, cardiac centre, CDU, level 2 and 3 full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and a new cath lab. Our new modern Radiography department is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology to include; Two general X-Ray rooms One fluoroscopy suite, which can also be utilised as an additional X-Ray room One Cone Beam CT scanner One Bone Density scanner with advanced body composition analysis capabilities Two state-of-the-art mobile X-Ray units Four theatre image intensifiers You’ll help us make health happen by: As MRI Lead Radiographer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day departmental operations, ensuring high-quality imaging, delivering safe and efficient workflows, and supporting the professional development of the MRI team. This role requires a dynamic, patient-focused leader who can uphold Cromwell Hospital’s reputation for outstanding patient care and clinical excellence. You will work closely with the MRI Superintendent to: Lead and coordinate daily clinical activity within a busy MRI environment. Maintain compliance with MRI safety frameworks (MHRA, Local Rules, SOPs). Drive quality improvement initiatives and optimise imaging protocols. Provide expert clinical leadership, training, and mentorship to radiographers. Contribute to governance, audit programmes, and departmental performance reviews. Support the introduction and integration of the new 3T MRI service. Participate in the weekend MRI rota and demonstrate flexibility to meet service demands. You’ll help us make health happen by Perform and supervise high‑quality MRI examinations in line with evidence‑based practice. Ensure safe operation of MRI environments, adhering to MRI safety zones and screening protocols. Manage staff rotas, workflows, and resources to optimise service efficiency. Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings (MDTs) and clinical discussions. Maintain accurate records, ensuring RIS/PACS data integrity. Support equipment care, quality assurance checks, and fault escalation. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative working. Key Skills / Qualifications; Essential: BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or DCR(R). HCPC registration Extensive post‑registration MRI experience (minimum 5 years). Competency in Cardiac MRI. Cannulation certificate Strong communication, decision‑making, and leadership skills. Desirable: Postgraduate MRI qualifications. Completion of MRI safety training (e.g., MR Safety Expert/Operator courses). Philips MRI experience. Previous people management experience.
