(Increases with tenure) 7 paid holidays + 2 floating holidays The MRI Scheduler is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while contacting patients to schedule their MRI and MRI follow up appointments. As a scheduler you will be providing an estimated amount that is due at time of service, obtaining prior authorization, and ensuring completion of appointment details to include proper documentation in the patient’s chart. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned) Answer incoming calls from high volume queue. Make outbound calls for initial contact and/or reschedule MRI appointments and follow ups. Screen MRI Order for accuracy (ICD10, location, provider, anatomy/CPT, laterality) Screen patient for MRI Safety by asking MRI precautionary questions. Verifies current insurance policy Explains estimated out of pocket costs for MRI. Obtain prior authorization for MRI using various clinical resources. Schedule MRI Appointment Schedules MRI follow up appointments with the physician or physician assistants; Makes contact with MRI Techs work STAT and urgent appointments. Document appointment detail information in patient’s chart. Communicate information via patient case to appropriate teams in patient chart. #RES Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent One year of experience in customer service in a health care environment preferred. SKILLS/ABILITIES Basic Computer skills Medical Terminology Strong customer service Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications, including email. Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Demonstrated conflict management skills
