Description

Are you a keen radiographer who wants to maintain a breadth of skills whilst developing specialist knowledge within cardiac MRI scanning at the regional Trauma centre on the Brighton site?
There’s never been a better time to progress within UHSussex. Our Trust is in the final stages of a £420 million redevelopment of the Brighton site. This includes a brand new Imaging department including advanced imaging with two 1.5T Philips Ingenia Ambition MRI scanners, one incorporating intra-operative MRI, one 3T Philips Ingenia Elition MRI scanner, and a 1.5T Siemens Aera. We are a modern department who strive for quality.
This position would be ideal for a radiographer who holds strong knowledge in MRI imaging techniques especially with Philips MRI scanners and would like to develop these skills into a clinical leadership role. You will be based at The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Most importantly we are looking for someone with NHS experience who is eager to join our developing team and someone who is as passionate as we are about the service that we deliver who provides attention to detail, and has a passion for training others.
Work as part of a team to provide an excellent MRI service
Will be an experienced HCPC registered radiographer with an interest in cardiac MRI, but who is able to undertake a wide range of clinical duties to provide the highest quality radiological images at all times to assist patient diagnosis and treatment, supporting all colleagues to do the same.
To assist in the day to day running of the department alongside the other MRI superintendents overseeing the general work to ensure a smooth co-ordinated service whilst delivering a high quality patient experience.
Ensure departmental adherence MHRA MRI safety guidelines and UHSx policy guidelines/protocols.
In addition to your normal core hours, participation in the out of hour’s rota is necessary. This will include some weekend work and possibility of on-calls from home where the service requires this.
You will be a senior influence within the department.
At UHSussex, diversity is our strength, and we want you to feel included to help us always put the Patient First. Your uniqueness and experiences will be part of our creative and innovative community where everyone is encouraged to succeed. We have a range of Staff Networks to help break down barriers, and can offer a buddy to help new members settle in. We’re proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) and a Veteran Aware Trust.
We treat our patients and staff with the same compassion and empathy we expect for ourselves. We’re here for them when they need us, and we go above and beyond to meet their needs. This can be seen in our Wellbeing Programme for staff which is extensive and designed to support you when you need it, including where possible, flexible working to support work life balance - because we know that to look after others we must first look after ourselves.
As a university trust and a leader in healthcare research, we value learning, teaching and training so that we can be the best that we can be. From the moment you start with us and throughout your career we will help you to grow and develop. We hope that in choosing UHSussex you are choosing a long and happy career where you will be able to see the difference you make and feel valued for all that you do.
We look forward to receiving your application and the start of your journey with UHSussex.
