FTE: .9 (36 hours/week) Weekend Schedule: No Holiday Schedule: Rotating Call Schedule: No FLSA Status: Non-exempt Department Name: MRI Department Code: 7260 Location: Brattleboro, Vermont **$5,000 Sign-On Bonus to Qualified Candidates** JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Radiology and the Medical Director, the MRI Technologist is responsible for performing duties directly involving a variety of technical procedures applying to Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This position works at a technical level under limited supervision, independently performing MRI procedures. Procedures performed require independent judgment and initiative as well as a comprehensive understanding of MRI safety. DEPT. SCOPE OF SERVICE: The Department of Radiology at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is a consultative service that will provide services in the following categories: diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, computed tomography, interventional radiography, MRI, bone density and mammography. The department offers services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to inpatients, outpatients and emergency room patients of all ages. Whereas x-ray procedures constitute the majority of our service, we also provide related quality control (including protecting patients and staff from harmful radiation), quality assurance monitoring and evaluation, marketing and continuing education of staff and patients. Radiology is comprises of licensed technologists, certified and licensed nuclear medicine technologists, secretarial staff and licensed radiologists. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Education: AMA approved program of Radiologic Technology ARRT & MRI Registered Experience: Previous experience in MRI in a hospital setting Licensure/Certification: ARRT Registry required MRI Registry required Certified in CPR Venipuncture Certification required, can be obtained within 3 months of hire. Mental Efforts: Ability to transport patients as needed. Ability to work within a limited space and in bright and low lighted rooms such as the darkroom. Ability to write and file for extended periods of time. Must be able to perform tasks with require moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such a data entry, copying and developing films.
