Description St. Croix Health is looking for a casual MRI Technologist to join our team!Casual status would work 2-4 shifts/month, day shifts, Monday through Friday. This position is responsible for interpreting a physician’s instructions and explaining MRI procedures to patients. The MRI Technologist changes imaging parameters and selects software options while operating the MRI scanner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Perform MRI procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision. Assist radiologist as necessary Assist Lead with development and maintenance of exam protocols. 2. Enforce MRI safety for patients, visitors, and employees. Participate in safety plan development and execution Participate in drills to assess safety protocols 3. Follow through with patient exams and orders in the RIS, EMR, EHR. Ensure orders are entered correctly Enter appropriate charges based on exam (s) completed 4. Maintain MRI equipment. Generate and follow up on work orders as necessary Maintain working relationship with appropriate service engineer and/or physicist 5. Meet patient needs and conditions for exams. Partner with relevant physicians to create exam protocols Work with MRI Lead Radiologic Technologist to ensure that new orders are correctly built in EMR and existing orders are valid and correct 6. Perform other duties as necessary or required by assignment. Accept responsibility for students or prospective students placed in imaging department Share experience and knowledge with future healthcare professionals Serve as a model professional Requirements Education & Licensure: Registered by American Registry of Radiological Technologists. (R.T. ARRT) MRI Certification required Current WI Radiographer license BLS required Experience: 2 years of experience performing a variety of MRI studies (MSK, Body, Neuro/Angio, and Breast) desired Experience with IV placement and contrast administration preferred ACR experience preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology and MRI technology practices and procedures Familiar with navigating PACS Ability to multitask, work under pressure while maintaining quality standards Ability to understand oral and written instructions stated in medical and radiologic terms Excellent communication and listening skills Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands and priorities Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times St. Croix Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
