Job Details An MRI Technologist operates magnetic resonance imaging scanners to create diagnostic images, focusing on patient safety, comfort, and high-quality results by preparing patients, positioning them correctly, explaining procedures, screening for MRI safety, and collaborating with radiologists to review images for accuracy, administering contrast agents when needed, and maintaining detailed records. Responsibilities: Prepare and position patients for MRI examinations, ensuring comfort and safety Explain procedures to patients and address concerns to reduce anxiety Operate MRI scanners and related equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images Screen patients for contraindications (e.g., implants, metal objects, contrast allergies) Administer contrast agents in accordance with physician orders and safety guidelines Monitor patients during procedures and respond to emergencies as needed Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation Follow MRI safety protocols, infection control procedures, and HIPAA regulations Perform routine equipment quality assurance and report equipment issues Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Assists physicians in performing special imaging procedures in the CT Scan and MRI departments. Demonstrates adherence to radiation safety practice. Responsible for completing a full caseload assignment. Requirements: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field Completion of an accredited MRI technologist training program Must be licensed/registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. ( ARRT) Must have a current NYS Radiologic Technologist license to practice. Minimum of 5 years of experience in CT Scan and MRI preferred. Current MRI certification required or needs to obtain it within 6 months from the start date. Must demonstrate high-tech skills and be able to take scheduled call rotation Salary Range USD $50.89 - USD $59.49 /Hr. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
