Benefits: 401(k) Competitive salary Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Job Overview: AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking certified and experienced PRN MRI Technologists to provide on-call diagnostic imaging services at WRNMMC. The MRI Technologist will perform advanced imaging procedures using MRI scanners and will be responsible for patient care, image quality, and safety compliance. This position is critical in supporting diagnostic efforts for active-duty service members, veterans, and military families. General Duties: Perform MRI scans as prescribed by medical professionals within the hospital. Ensure safe and proper operation of MRI equipment and strict adherence to safety protocols. Maintain professionalism and effective communication with patients and staff. Specific Duties: Conduct MRI procedures including brain, spine, abdominal, musculoskeletal, and vascular imaging. Screen patients for MRI contraindications (implants, devices, metal, etc.). Position patients accurately for exams and ensure comfort and safety. Operate imaging systems and adjust technical parameters as needed to optimize scan quality. Collaborate with radiologists to ensure image accuracy and clinical utility. Ensure all studies are completed and transferred to PACS for review and interpretation. Follow all infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety regulations. Maintain accurate patient records and scan documentation. Assist with MRI quality assurance checks and equipment care. Respond to urgent or emergency scan requests on a PRN basis. Qualifications: Degree: Must provide transcript verifying education in radiology or MRI Education: Graduate of an accredited MRI or Radiologic Technology program Certification: Current ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross Experience: Minimum 2 years of MRI experience, preferably in a hospital setting Licensure: Current, unrestricted state license in radiologic technology (if required by state law) Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of MRI physics, positioning, and protocols Skilled in trauma and emergency MRI procedures Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and PACS; familiarity with MHS Genesis is preferred Excellent patient communication and comfort management High attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure Benefits: Competitive PRN hourly pay Flexible scheduling Malpractice insurance provided Opportunity to work in a nationally renowned military hospital environment Schedule: PRN basis: Minimum of 1 shift per month required Shifts available: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays Typical shifts: 8 or 12 hours depending on need Must respond to urgent scheduling within 24 hours’ notice when available Work Environment: Clinical setting at WRNMMC, a large federal military hospital MRI department supports inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care Team includes radiologists, technologists, and support staff in a collaborative environment Immunization Requirement: Must comply with DHA and MTF immunization requirements: Annual flu vaccine TB screening COVID-19 and other required vaccinations N95 mask fit testing required (provided by contractor) Security Requirement: Federal background check required Must pass government security clearance process No remote work or telehealth permitted
