Job Responsibilities: Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. Implements patient safety standards. Prepares for and assists the physician in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Skills and Attributes: Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under direct supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization. Position Requirements: Work Experience No experience required Education Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire Licensure/Certification/Registration RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND RT(MR) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required upon hire AND ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position Organizational Responsibilities: Supports Owensboro Health’s Mission, Vision, Core Commitments, and business interests.
