POSITION SUMMARY- SALARIED NON - EXEMPT

The MRO Assistant Supervisor is responsible for overall activities within the department, including inventory control accuracy, purchasing and receiving, and organization of the tool crib and spare parts. Focus is made to generate cost savings for the company and improve lead times from vendors.

EDUCATION:

Associates or Bachelors’ Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

2 years + experience with Inventory Control and Supplier Management, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

MS Office skills required. SAP knowledge preferred. EAM experience required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Able to take accurate measurements with rulers, calipers and micrometers, along with the ability to read blueprints required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain both physical component inventory and computerized inventory, ensuring accuracy.
  • Perform cycle counts and compare to computerized inventory.
  • Solicit bids from vendors and receive approval.
  • Maintain established stock levels for parts, and order parts for maintenance and other internal customers as needed.
  • Lead the process to select and manage suppliers by Identifying new opportunities, and responding to solicitations
  • Prepare RMA’s and forward to manager for approval.
  • Oversee the receipt, cleaning, and inspection of tools to be stored or reissued.
  • Oversee the machinists’ preparation and sharpening of tools as needed to meet specifications/tolerances.
  • Maintain trust and good working relationships with all levels of key staff and management personnel (internal and external).
  • In conjunction with the maintenance manager, oversee the management of the EAM system.
  • Multitask and prioritize workload for the department.
  • Assist with issuing tools per machine requirements to CMD as requested by the department.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the department.
  • Other misc. duties as assigned.
