Position Summary The Part-Time MRO Buyer is responsible for procuring Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials and services to support daily operations, equipment uptime, and facility maintenance. This role ensures timely, cost-effective purchasing of supplies, tools, spare parts, and services while maintaining strong vendor relationships and accurate procurement records. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Procurement * Source, quote, and purchase MRO supplies, tools, spare parts, consumables, safety items, and maintenance services. * Ensure timely replenishment of critical inventory to minimize downtime. * Review purchase requisitions, verify specifications, and place purchase orders. * Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers for best value. Vendor Management * Maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers and identify alternate sources when needed. * Evaluate vendor performance based on pricing, quality, and responsiveness. * Resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality discrepancies, or invoicing. Inventory Coordination * Collaborate with maintenance, warehouse, and production teams to understand MRO stock needs. * Help maintain proper inventory levels and ensure updated item records. * Monitor usage trends and propose stocking strategies for frequently used items. Data & Documentation * Maintain accurate purchase order records, supplier information, and files. * Track spend and support monthly reporting of MRO expenses and savings. * Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and internal controls. Qualifications Required * 1–3 years combined experience in purchasing or administrative support. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Basic understanding of industrial equipment, tools, or maintenance supplies. * Hands-on exposure to vendor communication, PO processing, and ERP systems * Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
